"Grande reserve", a rare and expensive collector's wine from
the legendary Domaine Porto Carras. A ten-year old VDQS red wine from
the Slopes of Mt. Meliton primarily made of select Cabernet Sauvignon
grapes blended with a little Cabernet Franc.
Recalling the colour of terracotta, its noble tannins retain the
vitality of their youth while its bouquet reminds one of prune, fig,
tobacco and allspice. This regal wine from Domaine Porto Carras is one
of those wines about which one can truly say, "This is a work of
art." Carefully decant half an hour before dining. Ideal with game
birds, served before the open fire with Vivaldi playing in the
background. The seal on those special moments in day-to-day life.
